“The answer, my friend, is blowin’ in the wind, the answer is blowin’ in the wind,” sang Bob Dylan. And the wind of change is happening in Iran.
It looks like the government is separating from the Islamic State/Ayatolah. He will have his own guard, as IS have their own units and armies, within Iran, but there is still a national army. IS has it’s own versions of most forces, like Navy (limited as it may be), Air Force, Army, Spec. Forces, etc including a bodyguard for the Ayatolah, whom I believe has already fled.
It should be relatively peaceful and will most likely require little, or no, intervention by external actors. As the reaction is occurring internally to Iran and they want rid of Islamic State, it’s highly anticipated that IS will be displaced and ultimately outlawed, retaining it’s identity at it’s own peril.
