As the hostilities ebb into peace in the Ruso-Ukraine conflict, the world would be well advised to prepare for further incursions.
  With the Crimea under Russian occupation, albeit in name, their offensive  strategy appears to be revealing itself. Movement in and near Belarus indicates that the Russian mobilisation is still in progress, as well as assorted maritime manoeuvres that seem to be overlooked by the press.
  An agreement has been made between the US and Ukraine, hopefully establishing an American presence in the country, which strategically asserts the tentative western initiatives. Then France and the UK, along with several EU states and other ‘willing’ sovereign states, are readying to sustain peace by policing the area.
  There has been an area cleared in one of the Ukraine Oblasts by the Russians that appears to establish a boundary. Whilst they assert explanations for this, we believe that it serves a purpose more in line with demilitarisation.
  The careful use of nuclear language is rearing its head in certain countries which does not bode well, yet it is a question that no doubt is on the lips of many. Inasmuch as it is disconcerting, we believe that there is no immediate nuclear risk.
  So what does this all mean? Essentially it appears that peace is imminent for the Ukraine. With Putin’s request for a three day ceasefire on the horizon, the Ukraine continues attacks on Moscow and the Crimea. I am sure that just as the Ukraine will want to avoid striking any of the  several sovereign dignitaries visiting Russia, Mr Putin will wish to avoid any hostilities towards American feet on foreign soil. This will be the start of an unofficial truce, a rolling agreement so to speak. We suggest that if the duration of the inadvertent ceasefire exceeds thirty days, that discussion should be brokered to formalise any arrangement.
  This indicates that the world will watch a unofficial peace being brought on by Russia’s VE celebrations. It will be interesting to watch how it progresses.
