On the island of Santorini, stands the Monastery Of Elijah, overseeing the land and sea. Some may not suppose a similarity between present events and historical ones, however the nature of the messenger/prophet and kingdom is a curious parallel with this contemporary instance.
Elijah was a messenger and prophet of God, to the kingdom of Judah, southern Israel. Much has been written about him, even in the religions of Islam, Judaism and Christianity, with his ‘history’ nearing conclusion in the Book of Malachi, where it’s written, “Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the great and awesome day of the Lord comes. And he will turn the hearts of fathers to their children and the hearts of children to their fathers, lest I come and strike the land with a decree of utter destruction.” The beginning of his tale begins with him warning Ahab that there will be years of catastrophic drought so severe that not even dew will form, for Jezebel and he are ‘the end of a line of kings of Israel’ who are said to have “done evil in the sight of the Lord.” And this is predominantly the case of Elijah’s ministry.
Given the similarity of our ‘position’ at the moment, a comparison of Elijah as 23th inc and the southern kingdom of Judah to the United States of America, could be made. This is not necessarily the case, but a curious parallel per se, so it will be interesting to see if and how the USA respond to the environmental portent. The United States has been made aware of environmental issues since the inauguration and by sheer coincidence, the renamed Gulf of America, seems to clarify ownership over environmental disasters due to the many oil drilling accidents, adding to their neglect of the environment and withdrawal from the Paris Agreement.
Therefore, we say again, please let the Ukraine elect their own leaders and reverse your stance on the environment, for it looks like, “It’s coming to get you.” Whether one believes in God or otherwise, nature is telling you something. To reiterate,
“The one who plants trees, knowing that he will never sit in their shade, has at least started to understand the meaning of life.”
